HELEN MCKENNAN BRONZE CAST IN SIOUX FALLS 

This week, BronzeAge Art Casting in Sioux Falls cast a sculpture of Helen McKennan created by South Dakota artist Martin Wanserski.  Wanserski recently retired as art professor at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion.  The bronze sculpture will be placed in McKennan park to honor Helen McKennan's donation of land to create the park.

 

ANTHROPOLOGY STUDENTS AT AUGUSTANA CAST AFRICAN MASKS

Anthropology Professor, Dr. Adrien Hannus, recently invited his Augustana students to create replicas of traditional African masks.  Instead of using traditional materials though, the students used casting wax from BronzeAge.  When the students completed their wax masks, the foundry cast the works in bronze.  The students visited the foundry for the bronze pour and a tour.  Thanks to all the students for their hard work and their interest in the casting process.
